GRAMBLING, La. | Grambling State University head women's soccer coach
Justin Wagar announced the 10 student-athletes who have signed National Letters of Intent to play for the Lady Tigers in 2019.
Grambling State, the 2018 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) regular-season champions, will look to build upon its first conference title as Wagar signed nine players to the 2019 recruiting class.
"Fortunately, our recruiting classes keep getting better and better as our quality of athlete improves, so does the height for our target that we'd like to achieve," Wagar, who has garnered back-to-back SWAC Coach of the Year honors, said. "This is a very balanced class with speed, athleticism, experience, versatility and competitive drive. There is a lot of talent in this years recruiting class and we'll need every bit of it to compete with a challenging schedule next year, that includes four teams that reached the NCAA Division I Women's Tournament in 2019.
"Talent can present a deceiving level of comfort though for teams if they aren't careful, teams with more heart and drive can sneak up and overcome you. I hope each of our team members realize how hard we need to train to prepare for excellence so we can reach our goals. I'm excited for August to get here and for our fall season to begin."

An ACL injury kept her out during an important recruiting time while she recovered. She got healthy in time for her junior year to prove that she's fully recovered and ready to go and make an impact at the NCAA level.

"I have been a big fan of Trina's play ever since I first saw her play a few years ago. She has been one of the top forward recruits on my depth chart ever since day 1 when I watched her blow by the opposing teams defense and score a few goals that game. I love her work ethic, her competitive nature and passion to learn. Her speed and attacking ability will create problems for opposing defenses to keep up with. We're happy to have her as a member of our Grambling team."

She has good size, pace with a ball and a nose for the goal. She is another versatile athlete that can succeed at a couple of positions and will only get better and better in college if she continues to work and grow as a player. She's had a fair amount of success already in her playing career, but I think she can grow even more and peak the next four years at the Division I level. I'm excited to see her play in a GSU uniform and welcome her aboard."
