GRAMBLING, La. l Chasity Nicks and
Gillian Jones combined for 20 kills as the Grambling State University volleyball team picked up a win against Dillard University on Friday evening at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.
"Tonight's win was a team effort," said head coach
Demetria Keys-Johnson. "We focused a lot on communication and working as a team. Our hitters did a better job finishing. The triangle connection between the passer, setter and hitter was good this game. We will continue to eliminate back-to-back errors and find a way to earn points."
The Lady Tigers took all three sets, 26-24, 25-21 and 25-14, to win the match.
Nicks tallied 13 kills and eight digs, while Jones recorded seven kills, seven assists and six digs.
Sheila Borders registered 18 assists, while
Maurisa Harris finished with 13 digs to pace the defense.
Desire Neal paced Dillard with eight kills, while Aryel Neal contributed six kills and five digs.
