GRAMBLING, La. I The Grambling State University women's volleyball team (11-22 overall, 4-13 Southwestern Athletic Conference) fell to a 3-0 conference tilt against Southern University on Sunday.
Before the contest, seniors
Kabria Dame and
Chasity Nicks were recognized for their individual and teamwork accomplishments.
Southern (12-19 overall, 12-6 Southwestern Athletic Conference) swept the match with scores of 24-13, 25-19, 25-21.
Linzy Woods paced the Lady Tigers with nine kills and two digs, followed by Tamria Johnson recorded eight kills along with a pair of digs, Nicks tallied seven kills and three digs, and Dame registered five digs.
Shelby Jolly led Southern with 10 kills and a pair of digs, while Brianna Hawkins tallied 12 kills. Sameera Mohammed added 10 digs.
Inside the Numbers
> Grambling State finished the match with 33 kills, 32 digs, 25 assists, 7.0 team blocks and three service aces
> Southern recorded 40 kills, 36 assists, 41 digs, 3.0 team blocks and six service aces
> Grambling State committed 12 errors on 95 attempts
