GRAMBLING, La. | Three Grambling State University women's basketball players posted double figures in scoring in rolling past Texas Southern, 72-55, in a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) game on Saturday at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.

Grambling State (11-13 overall, 8-4 SWAC) held a narrow, 19-18 lead after one quarter and took a 33-26 advantage into the break. GSU outscored Texas Southern, 21-9, in the third to cruise to the win.

Justice Coleman finished with 15 points, on 7-of-10 shooting, four rebounds and one assist, while
Shakyla Hill registered 15 points, five assists, five boards and three steals.
Jazmin Boyd added 14 points, five rebounds and three assists.

Niya Mitchell posted a double-double with 12 points and a game-high 21 rebounds, along with three steals and one block. Olivia Cunningham tallied 10 points, two boards and one steal.

Turning Point
Grambling State took a 19-18 advantage into the second period and extended the lead to 28-20 after a
Takerra Parsons layup with 5:24 remaining. Texas Southern closed the gap to 31-26 after a bucket by Nikya Mitchell with 2:29 left, but
Madison Connally-Banks' layup with 52 seconds remaining set Grambling State into the half with a 33-26 lead.

GSU began the third on a 10-2 run, capped by a
Justice Coleman jumper with 5:42 left in the period and Grambling State stretched the advantage to 54-33 after a
Jazmin Boyd 3-pointer with 41 seconds remaining.

Texas Southern closed the deficit to 56-42 with just over eight minutes left, but could not get any closer as Grambling State completed its first season sweep of TSU since the 2010-11 season.
