GRAMBLING, La. | Tyler Robinson homered to give the Grambling State University softball team an early lead, but the Lady Tigers could not hold on in a 10-2 loss to Louisiana Tech on Tuesday night at the Lady Techsters Softball Complex.
How It Happened
Grambling State (16-19) struck first with a solo homer by
Tyler Robinson in the top of the second inning to give the Lady Tigers a 1-0 lead.
Louisiana Tech (35-10) quickly answered with a two-run homer by Marilyn Rizzato to give the Lady Techsters a 2-1 advantage.
The Lady Tigers tied the game at 2 in the fourth.
Tyra Triplett walked to begin the frame and advanced to second on a fly out by
Rikkelle Miller. With two outs, Robinson was hit by a pitch and Triplett scored on an error.
The Lady Techsters grabbed the 7-2 lead with a five-run fifth and won the game with three runs in the sixth.

Grambling State returns to Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play on Friday and Saturday at home against Prairie View A&M. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Friday at the GSU Softball Complex. The Lady Tigers will celebrate Senior Day prior to the first pitch on Saturday.
