Box Score GRAMBLING, La. | Just days after suffering their first conference loss of the season, the Tigers lost their first home game of the season with a 64-57 nailbiter against Prairie View A&M at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center in Southwestern Athletic Conference action.
Grambling (9-9, 3-2 SWAC) trailed by just five points at the break and continued to fight in the second half. The Tigers gained the lead in the second half but relinquished the lead with a slew of misses from downtown (3-of-23). Grambling was led by
Travon Bunch who finished with a game-high 14 points, nine rebounds and three blocks while teammate
Trevell Cunningham added 11 points, two rebounds and one steal. Fellow Tiger
Ivy Smith, Jr. chipped in with 10 points, four boards and three assists in the loss.

As a team Grambling committed 13 turnovers while Prairie View committed just eight.
The Panthers were led by Gerard Andrus who produced a double-double and finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds in the victory.

DeVante Jackson struggled from the floor (2-of-9) and finished with eight points and nine rebounds for Grambling.

The Tigers continue conference play on Monday, January 20 as they host Texas Southern University on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Tip-off against the Tigers is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center in the second of two games of the SWAC doubleheader. The game has been dubbed "Coaches vs. Cancer (Suits & Sneakers Week) as coaches will wear tennis shoes with their suits in order to raise cancer awareness.
