Box Score ITTA BENA, Miss. | The Grambling Tigers continued their win streak with a 90-65 blowout victory over Mississippi Valley State at the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex in Southwestern Athletic Conference play. The win is the Tigers' second in a row as they prepare for a rematch against Southern.
Grambling (11-11, 5-4 SWAC) led 47-20 at the break and cruised to victory behind senior point guard
Ivy Smith, Jr. and senior center
Travon Bunch, who both had monster games. Smith, Jr. was three assists shy of a triple-double, scoring 19 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out seven assists while Bunch produced a double-double and finished with a game-high 23 points on 11-of-16 shooting from the field. He also grabbed 11 rebounds and had one block in the win.
Smith, Jr. was efficient all night and shot 6-of-8 from the field while nailing 7-of-9 free throws.
Grambling's defensive pressure along with a solid press caused problems all night for the Delta Devils as they scored 25 points off of 19 Mississippi Valley turnovers.
The Tigers committed just 12 turnovers of their own on the night as big man
Devante Jackson finished with 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field with zero turnovers while teammate
Kelton Edwards added 12 points and dished out five assists in 21 minutes of action.
The Devils were led by Michael Green who scored 21 points and hit 5-of-10 three-pointers. Green also grabbed five rebounds, generated five steals but also produced four turnovers in the loss.

> Grambling State shot 54 percent (36-of-67) from the floor and 62 percent (13-of-21) from the charity stripe
> Mississippi Valley was 25-of-64 (39 percent) from the field and 5-of-9 (56 percent) from the foul line
> GSU registered 45 rebounds, including 16 on the offensive glass
> Valley State pulled down 35 rebounds, with 13 coming on the offensive end
> The Tigers finished with 50 points in the paint, 39 bench points, 16 second-chance points and 13 fast break points
> The Delta Devils recorded 10 points in the paint, 27 bench points, nine second-chance points and five fast break points

The Tigers continue conference play on Saturday, February 8 as they host Southern University. Tip-off against the Jaguars is set for 5:30 p.m. at Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center in the second of two games of the SWAC doubleheader.
