Box Score GRAMBLING, La. | The Grambing State University women's basketball team dismantled Mississippi Valley 72-47 in Southwestern Athletic Conference in the final home game at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center. The win snaps a 4-game skid for the Lady Tigers.
Grambling (4-23, 3-13 SWAC) got off to a quick start and led 16-10 at the end of the first quarter before Mississippi Valley closed the gap to just three points at the break. The Lady Tigers gradually increased their scoring production in each quarter, scoring 19 and 20 points in the second half respectively. Grambling increased the defensive intensity in the final quarter, holding the Devilettes to just eight points in the final stanza.

As a team Grambling forced 28 Mississippi Valley turnovers and held the Devils to just 33 percent shooting from the field, including 2-of-14 (14 percent) from behind the arc.
Junior
Justice Coleman led the Lady Tigers with a team-high 17 points, seven boards, four assists and three steals while teammate
Mylashia Yancey added 15 points in the win.
Alexus Holt generated 14 points while
Candice Parramore chipped in with 10 points off the bench for the Lady Tigers.
The Devilettes were led by Ayonna Cotten and Azaria Howard who finished with 14 points and 13 points respectively.

> Grambling State shot 44 percent (28-of-64) from the floor and 70 percent (7-of-10) from the charity stripe
> Mississippi Valley was 16-of-49 (33 percent) from the field and 13-of-27 (48 percent) from the foul line
> GSU registered 35 rebounds, including 12 on the offensive glass
> Valley State pulled down 34 rebounds, with 10 coming on the offensive end
> The Lady Tigers (GRAM) finished with 28 points in the paint, 20 bench points, six second-chance points and 25 fast break points
> The Devilettes recorded 26 points in the paint, 11 bench points, nine second-chance points and nine fast break points
