Box Score HOUSTON, Texas | Alexus Holt registered a game-high 19 points, and the Grambling State University women's basketball team knocked Texas Southern off the edge of a cliff with a 68-47 victory in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play on Saturday night at the H&PE Arena.

Grambling State (2-4 Overall, 2-1 SWAC) used a 23-9 run in the fourth quarter to pick up the victory.
"Our ladies bounced back with a much better team effort," said Head Coach Freddie Murray. "We rebounded better, shared the ball and didn't turn the ball over much. Those all things we strive to do each time we play. With all the ups and downs we have to deal with we're just trying to build our chemistry back— and tonight was a step back in the right direction."
Holt poured in a game-high 19 points for GSU including 7-of-9 from the field, five rebounds, five assists and one steal, while Candice Parramore added 15 points, two assists and one steal.
Namiko Adams paced Texas Southern (2-2, 0-1) with 11 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals. Quatera Limbrick chipped in 10 points and three rebounds in the loss.

> Grambling State was 25-of-63 (39.7 percent) shooting and 6-of-16 (31.3) percent) from the charity stripe
> Texas Southern shot 31.7 percent (19-of-60) from the field and 16.7 percent (3-of-18) from the free-throw line
> GSU registered 47 rebounds, including 17 off the offensive glass
> TSU pulled down 45 rebounds, with 28 coming on the defensive end
