GRAMBLING, La. | The Grambling State University volleyball team took a break from conference as the Lady Tigers dropped a three-set match to Louisiana Tech on Tuesday evening at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.
Louisiana Tech (8-16) picked up the win 25-15, 25-21, 25-22.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lady Techsters grabbed a 1-0 advantage in the match after taking the opening set, 25-15.
- Louisiana Tech finished the first set with 12 kills and just three attacking errors, while Grambling State had six kills and seven errors
- In the second set, Grambling State (7-12) pulled together 21 points, but it still wasn't enough to top the Lady Techsters
- Louisiana Tech won the match, 3-0, after taking the third set, 25-22, as Grambling State attempted to stage a comeback and force another set

Gillian Jones led the offensive attack for Grambling State with seven kills

Kalee Cadwell recorded a double-double of 18 assists and 10 digs

Jada Taylor tallied 15 digs, while Maurissa Harris followed with four
- Grambling State finished with 30 kills and 33 errors in 111 total attacks
- Carly Doros led Louisiana Tech with seven kills, followed by Morgan Smith and Jaena Bell who each had seven kills
- Mallory Meers dished out 17 assists
- On the defensive side, Meghan Dunnigan finished with 16 digs, while Samantha Hicks added 13
- Louisiana Tech recorded 40 kills and 16 errors in 113 total attacks
UP NEXT
Grambling State swings back into Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play, hosting the conference roundup as the Lady Tigers will meet Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman on Saturday, and conclude play on Sunday against Alabama State.
