BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Grambling State University women's soccer team will open the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Women's Soccer Tournament at 5 p.m. on Thursday as the Tigers will meet Jackson State in the quarterfinals at the Prairie View A&M Soccer Complex.
Grambling State (6-8-2) earned the No. 3 seed as Jackson State (4-11-3) will enter as the No. 6 seed. The winner of that match will face either Alabama A&M or Southern on Friday, Nov. 5.
GSU played host to JSU on Oct. 1, with Grambling State picking up a 1-0 victory in overtime.
Prairie View A&M, the SWAC regular-season co-champion, enters the tournament as the top seed and will open the tournament against eighth seed Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 11 a.m. Alabama State, the No. 4 seed, will meet Texas Southern, the No. 5 seed, at 2 p.m.
Alabama A&M, the SWAC regular season co-champion, earned the No. 2 seed and will meet the seventh seed, Southern, at 8 p.m.
Each tournament match is scheduled to be carried live on the SWAC Digital Network.
