PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas | Lindsay Jaiyesimi and
Miranda Urbizu scored second-half goals as the Grambling State University women's soccer team rallied for a 2-1 victory in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Women's Soccer Tournament Quarterfinals on Thursday afternoon at the PVAMU Soccer Complex.
Grambling State (8-7-2), the third seed, advances to Friday's semifinals and will meet the winner of Alabama A&M, the second seed, at 5:30 p.m. at the PVAMU Soccer Complex. Alabama A&M finished 90 minutes scoreless, but the Lady Bulldogs notched the game-winner in the second overtime to advance. Jackson State concluded the season at 4-12-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jackson State wasted little time getting into the scoring column
- Annalise Brunson scored off an assist by Brynn Walker in the fourth minute as JSU jumped out to a 1-0 lead
- Grambling State nearly tied the game in the 44th minute as
Kaydeen Jack's shot to the bottom right was stopped by JSU goalkeeper Tionna Taylor, keeping Jackson State ahead, 1-0
- GSU again nearly tied the game in the 58th minute, but
Hannah Roach's shot was saved by Taylor
- GSU finally broke through in the 77th minute as
Lindsay Jaiyesimi found the back of the net, tying the game at 1

Miranda Urbizu gave Grambling State its first lead, 2-1, off an assist by Roach
