GRAMBLING. La. | The Grambling State University volleyball team dropped its weekday match with a 3-0 loss to Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Thursday night in a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) match at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lady Tigers (13-15) fell behind to a 3-0 advantage in the opening set, but fought back to tie the score at 16.
-UAPB topped GSU to take the first set, 25-23
- In the second set, Grambling State registered 14 points and tallied eight errors as the Lady Lions extended the lead to 2-0
- Arkansas-Pine Bluff won the match, 3-0, after taking the third set, 25-22, as the Lady Tigers registered 10 kills and six error in the third set

Gillian Jones led the offensive attack for Grambling State with ten kills

Kalee Cadwell recorded 12 assists, followed by
Sheila Borders who recorded nine assists
- Defensively,
Jada Taylor and tallied 15 digs
- Grambling State finished with 28 kills and 19 errors in 95 total attacks
- Jayden James led Pine-Bluff with 14 kills
- Nikole Akamine dished out 22 assists, while Keaundra Sykes added 16
- On the defensive side, Nyah Ellis finished with 19 digs
- The Lady Lions recorded 47 kills and 15 errors in 108 total attacks
- The Lady Tigers registered 40 digs, 25 assists, three total team blocks and four service aces
- The Lady Lions tallied 48 digs, 43 assists, nine total team blocks and five service aces
UP NEXT
Grambling State will travel to Alcorn State on Sunday. The match is set to begin at 6 p.m. at the Davey L. Whitney Complex.
