JACKSON, Miss. | In the first collegiate doubleheader ever televised on NBA TV, Grambling trailed by six at the break but stormed back to make it an extremely tight contest down the stretch, but it wasn't enough as Jackson State held on for the 63-59 victory at the Lee E. Williams Athletics and Assembly Center.
The opening half was a low-scoring affair as Grambling shot less than 30 percent from the field but found themselves down just six points due to horrid free throw shooting from Jackson State (1-for-6) in the first half.
The Tigers were led by senior
Prince Moss who produced a team-high 18 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the field, including 3-of-6 from behind the arc. He also connected on 5-of-6 from the charity stripe. Redshirt junior
Cameron Christon was the only other Tiger to finish in double figures as he finished with 15 points and nearly hit all his free-throw attempts (7-for-8) in the game while adding nine boards in the loss.
Senior post man
Terreon Randolph had a solid output as he chipped in with nine points and seven boards while missing just one shot from the field and one free throw all game.
Jackson State's Tristan Jarrett finished with a game-high 26 points in the win, connecting on 6-of-10 from downtown.
