BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has announced its Spring 2021 SWAC Volleyball Tournament seedings.
2021 SWAC Regular Season Champion Jackson State enters the tournament as the #1 seed (9-0 SWAC) while Prairie View A&M enters the tournament as the #2 seed (10-1 SWAC).
Arkansas-Pine Bluff claimed the #3 seed (6-4 SWAC) in the tournament followed by #4 seed Grambling State (5-6 SWAC). Southern is the #5 seed (5-6 SWAC) followed by #6 seed Alcorn State (3-6 SWAC).
Grambling State and Southern finished the regular season with identical records (5-6) but GSU claimed the #4 seed by virtue of owning the head-to-head tie breaker over Southern.
Texas Southern (2-9 SWAC) and Mississippi Valley State (0-8 SWAC) will enter the tournament as the #7 and #8 seeds respectively.
The Spring 2021 SWAC Volleyball Tournament is slated to be played on March 26-26 at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
The championship match for the event is scheduled to be carried live on the SWAC Digital Network on Sunday, March 28 at 3:00 pm CST.
