Box Score GRAMBLING, La.| On Senior Night, the Grambling State University women's basketball team came out on top of Alabama A&M 72-68 to conclude the regular season on Saturday Night in the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center. The Lady Tigers ended the season as the No. 4 seed in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Women's Basketball standings.

At the end of regulation, five seniors were recognized in a Senior Night presentation, including Ariel Williams, Camryn London, Alexus Holt, Justice Coleman and Brandi Washington.

Coleman led Grambling State (9-9 overall, 8-6 SWAC) with a team-high 16 points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal. Alexus Holt chipped in 14 points, six boards and five assists. Candice Parramore contributed 12 points and shot 4-of-5 from the field, while Leah Morrow added 10 points, four boards, one assist and one steal.

Alabama A&M (overall 10-6, SWAC 8-5) was paced offensively by Dariauana Lewis who had a game-high double-double including  26 points and 12 rebounds. Deshawna Harper tallied 18 points, six rebounds and four assists, while Elexis Evans contributed 14 points and five boards.

Grambling State is set to take on the No. 5 seed, Alabama A&M in the first round of the 2021 Cricket Wireless SWAC Tournament. The Championships will start on Wednesday, March 10, through Saturday, March 13 and will take place at Bartow Arena located in downtown Birmingham, Ala.
 

Inside the Numbers

> Grambling State was 23-of-48 (47.9  percent) shooting and 19-of-23 (82.6) percent) from the charity stripe

> Alabama A&M shot 45.3 percent (29-of-64) from the field and 35.0 percent (7-of-20) from the free-throw line

> GSU registered 26 rebounds, including 10 off the offensive glass

> AAMU pulled down 30 rebounds, with 17 coming on the defensive end
