Grambling, La. | Grambling State entered today's game on a 8-game conference winning streak, but the Tigers came short of a sweep as they fell 10-3 to Southern University in SWAC action at Wilbert Ellis Field.
"Extremely happy in the result of winning the series against Southern this weekend," said head coach
James Cooper. "Especially when you have to deal with weather and adjust to have to play two games on Saturday, come away with two wins, and win the series the first day. I'm very disappointed in not getting the sweep and the result of that is because of the defensive miscues that we had today. There is no time to dwell on this, we have four tough games around the corner to prepare for and we will be ready," explained Coach Cooper.
