Houston, Texas | The Grambling Tigers (13-18, 10-4 SWAC) pounded out sixteen hits as the Grambling State baseball team clinched the series with a 16-8 win over Texas Southern (10-27, 9-10 SWAC) Sunday afternoon at MacGregor Park.
Caleb Clines went 3 for 4 with five RBI and
Cameron Bufford also drove in four runs for Grambling. Of Grambling's 16 hits in the game, six went for extra bases, including three home runs.
Grambling scored two runs in the first inning, six runs in the second inning including a grand slam by
Caleb Clines, and a two-run homerun by
Keylon Mack. Clines notched his second grand slam of the season as Mack registered his fifth homerun. The Grambling Tigers plated three runs in the third inning and added five more in the eighth on a two RBI triple by Jospeh Gunn and a two RBI double by
Jahmoi Percival.
"Offensively we had it going today, but we still have room for improvement," Grambling State head coach
James Cooper said. "We had twelve left on base today and we had some really good swings from
Jahmoi Percival,
Keylon Mack,
Caleb Clines,
Cameron Bufford, and the list goes on and on for today. We are going to have to pitch better tomorrow to secure the win."

- Oscar Ponce led the Tigers at the plate by going 2-4.
- Adolf Castillo (1-2) started for Texas Southern and went 1.0 innings. He gave up six runs on four hits, walked one, and struck out one.
- Brian Williams, Jaiden Beck, and Kevin Garcia pitched in relief.
