Anaiyah Fultz continues to remain hot as she extended her hitting streak to four games in a row on the season as Grambling State softball fell to ULM, 5-2, on Tuesday afternoon at the GSU Softball Complex.
The Lady Tigers fell to 10-14 on the season and 7-5 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. The Warhawks improve to 14-26 overall and 4-12 in the Sun Belt.
In the bottom of the first, both teams were able to get both lead off hitters on base, but not able to plate any runs. The Warhawks plated one run in the second and three runs in the third to take a commanding 4-0 lead.
The Lady Tigers struck back in the bottom of the third inning scoring two runs after a single up the middle by
India Wells following a two-RBI single by
Anaiyah Fultz to make the score 4-2. ULM added one more run in the fourth to extend their lead to 5-2 which secured the win.
"We played a decent game after coming off of a conference road trip, however we would've had a different outcome if we limited the free passes. On the offensive side, we had opportunities to score but we need to be more disciplined at the plate," Grambling State head coach Nakeya Hall said.

- Grambling State finished with two runs, three hits, committed two errors, and left four on base.
- India Wells led the Lady Tigers by going 2-3 with one run.
- Anaiyah Fultz went 1-3 with two RBI.
- Taylor Polk (0-1) started on the mound for the Lady Tigers and lasted 3.0 innings. She gave up four runs on two hits, six walks, and a strikeout.
- Janecia King and Sherrell Matthews pitched in relief.
- ULM finished with five runs on five hits, and stranded seven on base.
- Alysia Anderson led the Warhawks at the plate by going 1-2 with a run and an RBI.
- Kassidy Giddens (4-2) started for ULM and went 3.0 innings. She gave up two runs on three hits, walked one, and struck out one.
