ABILENE, Texas | The Grambling State University women's soccer team couldn't fend off a late second half rally by Abilene Christian, falling 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at Ezra Gray Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless first half,
Kailey Pena broke the tie with a goal in the 51st minute, giving the GSU (0-6-1) a 1-0 lead.
- ACU's Natalie Wodka responded with an equalizing goal in 73rd minute.
- In the 82nd minute, ACU's Caylen Wright found the back of the net giving the Wildcats a 2-1 lead.
- ACU (2-4) held the Lady Tigers at bay for the remaining eight minutes of a play, securing the victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Pena scored her third goal of the season
- GSU was outshot 19-7. The Wildcats put seven shots on goal, while the Lady Tigers had three on target
