PINE BLUFF, Ark. | I The Grambling State University women's soccer team wrapped up its regular season with a 2-0 shutout victory over Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) foe Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Friday afternoon.
The win improved GSU to 10-7-3 overall, 5-1-3 in conference play, securing the No. 2 seed n next weekends SWAC Women's Soccer Tournament.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the 17th minute, Beatriz Kretteis put Grambling State on top 1-0, depositing a header in the back of the goal off of a corner kick from Aria Whitney.
- Just before halftime, Lizbeth Aguero scored off of a feed from Mackenzie Rastatter, blasting a shot from 35 yards away, stretching the Lady Tigers' lead to 2-0. Those two goals were all GSU needed to put UAPB away, Grambling State's defense secured its conference-leading ninth shutout of the year.
