GRAMBLING, La.| The Grambling State University softball team torched Louisiana Christian University, 14-8, on Wednesday afternoon in a mid-week non-conference matchup at Wildcat Park.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Grambling State (17-15, 4-8) scored two runs on two walks with the bases loaded in the top of the first inning
-Louisiana Christian (22-14. 11-5) got on the board in the bottom of the third inning as Bella Houck doubled down the left field line scoring Lexie Marks
-The Wildcats trialed 7-3 going into the fourth inning
-Grambling State took a 10-3 lead as the Lady Tigers continued to pour in runs off of walks
-GSU was too tough for the Wildcats to handle as the Lady Tigers breezed away with the 14-8 victory
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
-Grambling State tallied 13 hits, 14 runs and three errors
-Louisiana Christian finished with 12 htis, eight runs and two errors
-Payton Shells (2-3) recorded the win for the Lady Tigers pitching three innings, assisted by Dacia Richard who also pitched three innings and Ja'Lynn Bonner who pitched one inning
-Bella Houck (0-1) took the loss for the Wildcats throwing three innings and allowing seven runs, walking six batters, and committing even errors

The Lady Tigers return to SWAC play with a visit to Texas Southern on Friday and Saturday. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. Friday afternoon at Memorial Park.
