SHREVEPORT, La. | The Grambling State University women's soccer team opened its 2022 campaign on a high note, earning a 2-0 shutout victory over LSU-Shreveport.
The Lady Tigers utilized stifling defense, limiting the Pilots to five shots and controlling the tempo of the game from start to finish.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- GSU captain, Kaydeen Jack, gave the Lady Tigers its first scoring opportunity of the game, retrieving a pass into the box. LSU-S goalkeeper Carlota Alcalde fouled Jack, awarding the Lady Tigers with a penalty kick opportunity in the 16th minute.
- Jack deposited the PK in the back of the net, giving the Lady Tigers a 1-0 lead.
- In the 89th minute, GSU's Samantha Diaz received a nice pass from Nia Harley, securing the 2-0 win for the Lady Tigers,
