TEMPE, Ariz. | The Grambling State University women's soccer team suffered a 5-0 defeat to Arizona State of the PAC-12 on Wednesday night at the Sun Devil Soccer/Lacrosse Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Arizona State (3-0-2) opened the scoring in the 20th minute on a goal by Nicole Douglas.
- Two minutes later, Douglas found the back of the net again, stretching ASU's lead to 2-0.
- The Sun Devils pushed its lead to 3-0 with a score from Alexia Delgado in the 34th minute.
- ASU's Douglas notched her third goal of the night in the 40th minute, giving the Sun Devils a 4-0 advantage going into the half.
- Arizona State fired 20 shots, placing nine on goal in the opening half. Grambling State's (3-6) goalkeeper Madison Covey-Taylor made made some remarkable saves in the first half, stopping five of the ASU's shots.
- The Sun Devils added one more score to the tally in the second half.
