BATON ROUGE, La. | Junior forward Samantha Diaz scored an early goal to give the Grambling State University women's soccer team a 1-0 lead over LSU, but the Tigers from Baton Rouge, La. rallied past GSU for a 3-1 victory on Friday night at LSU Soccer Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Grambling State grabbed the early 1-0 lead thanks to a goal by Diaz in the 8th minute. Reece Scott was credited with an assist on the play.
- LSU got the equalizer with a goal by Mollie Baker in the 24th minute.
- Louisiana State pushed in front of GSU two minutes later when Ida Hermannsdottir placed a shot into the back of the net
- LSU put the game out of reach in the 82nd minute, going up 3-1, on another goal from Hermannsdottir.
