GRAMBLING, La. | The Grambling State University women's soccer team nearly remained unbeaten in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play, but a late goal by Texas Southern handed GSU its first conference loss, 1-0, at the GSU Soccer Complex on Friday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first half, Grambling State (4-7-1 Overall, 1-1-1 SWAC) put pressure on Texas Southern's defense, outshooting Texas Southern (2-7-2, 2-0-1) 9-2 in the first period, placing five shots on goal.
- In the second half, it looked as if GSU would not its second draw on conference play, but a goal by TSU's Hayden McMillan in the 85th minute, gave Texas Southern a 1-0 lead that it would relinquish.
