BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Grambling State University women's basketball student-athlete Colbi Maples was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week, announced by the conference on Thursday.
The Earle, Ark. native earned the recognition after averaging 28.5 points per game over the Lady Tigers past two contests. In GSU's 66-60 win versus Prairie View A&M, she scored 25 points while snagging seven rebounds, dishing out two assists and making one steal.
She topped that performance two days later with a career-high 32-point outing in Grambling State's 76-69 victory over Texas Southern.
She shot 55 percent from the floor over those two games.
