10/11/2023 9:04:00 AM

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Grambling State University women's soccer team had three student-athletes earn Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Player of the Week recognition.

Karlyn Judge was named the SWAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week, Naya Vialva was tabbed the Defensive Player of the Week, and Madison Covey-Taylor landed Goalkeeper of the Week honors.

This is the second time this season that Judge and Covey-Taylor earned SWAC Weekly superlatives.

Co-Offensive
Judge contributed a stellar week for Grambling State this past week as she helped the Tigers remain unbeaten in league play. She scored two goals during the week including the lone goal in the Tigers 1-0 victory at Alcorn State.

Defensive
Vialva played a complete game during GSU's 2-1 win over Louisiana Tech, the first in school history. She also helped GSU secure a shutout victory at Alcorn State with her exceptional play defensively.

Goalkeeper
Covey-Taylor assisted the Tigers in defeating Louisiana Tech, Mississippi Valley State and Alcorn State this past week. She played 225 minutes in goal, contributing 11 saves and surrendering just one goal in those three matches.
