Sluggish First Half Dooms GSU at Colorado, Tigers Fall 95-63

BOULDER, Colo. | The Grambling State University men's basketball team suffered a 95-63 loss to Colorado on Friday night at the CU Events Center.

GSU (1-1) was outscored 50-20 in the first half and were cold from the floor, going 6-of-26 on its field goal attempts. Colorado, on the other hand, was hot from the floor knocking down 58.33 percent (21-of-36) of its FG attempts, including 6-of-13 from behind the arc.

"We got to take better shots. Some of the shots we're taking are contested shots. We got to be able to move the ball and take open shots," said GSU head coach Donte' Jackson. "Open shots are always better shots and they're high percentage shots. Right now, we're taking contested pull-ups and that's not good basketball."

Tra'Michael Moton was a bright spot for the Tigers. The fifth-year senior scored a game-high 26 points with five assists, three steals and one rebound.

Colorado (2-0) was led by Tristan de Silva who contributed 21 points, seven rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal.

The Buffaloes led nearly every statistical category, seizing control of the game early. Grambling State played much better in the second half, knocking down 53.57 percent (15-of-28) of its shots.
