Grambling Cruises To A 109-41 Victory Over Wiley University

Grambling, LA | In an impressive display of dominance, the Grambling State University women's basketball team secured a commanding 109-41 win against Wiley University.

The Lady Tigers delivered a stellar performance on the court, displaying exceptional shooting skills throughout the game. With an impressive field goal percentage of 47.8% (43-90), they capitalized on their opportunities. From beyond the arc, they secured 30% (9-30) and exhibited prowess at the free-throw line with 63.6% (14-22) accuracy.

Seven players from Grambling University contributed double-digit points, demonstrating their depth and offensive strength. Notably, the team scored a remarkable 64 points in the paint, showcasing their dominance under the basket. Additionally, they capitalized on turnovers, amassing 42 points compared to Wiley's 4 points off turnovers.


The team exhibited consistent scoring, putting up 27 points in the 1st quarter, 30 in the 2nd quarter, 26 in the 3rd quarter, and 26 in the 4th quarter, accumulating a total of 109 points

This milestone victory marks Grambling's first time surpassing the century mark in three years, last achieving a score over 100 against Centenary with a 106-42 victory. Moreover, this game stands as a historic moment, marking almost eight players averaging double-digit points in a game for the first time in 12 years.

Individual standout performances include Douthshine Prien with 18 points, 7 assists, 5 steals, and 3 rebounds; Arianna Mosley with 11 points and 4 rebounds; Kaci Chairs with 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists; DeMya Young with 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists; Amanda Blake with 14 points and 8 rebounds; Jazmyne Jackson with 17 points, 8 assists, and 3 steals; Jordyn Carter with 10 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals; and Anijah Grant with 9 points and 7 rebounds.

Grambling's
 stellar performance and individual achievements highlight their strength and determination on the court, setting a new standard for their team's success this season.The teams next game will be against University of Minnesota on December 13th @ 11:00am.
