Box Score GRAMBLING, La. | In a fierce battle, the Grambling State Lady Tigers faced off against Northwestern State, delivering a thrilling match that had fans on the edge of their seats.
The first set saw both teams engage in a neck-and-neck struggle. The Lady Tigers showed impressive resilience, tallying 24 points, while the Lady Demons secured a narrow lead with 26 points, ultimately clinching the set. The intensity was set from the start, with Zyonn Smith's powerful kill propelling Grambling State to an early lead.
The second set saw Grambling State facing an early deficit, allowing Northwestern to establish a comfortable lead. Despite valiant efforts to catch up with multiple big kills from Adaziah Millet and Naveah Scott, untimely errors proved costly, resulting in a 18-25 set loss.
The third set opened with the Lady Demons asserting dominance, surging ahead with a six-point lead after an initial point from the Lady Tigers. Though major efforts were made by Zyonn Smith with 6 kills.This early gap proved unconquerable, ending in a 20-25 victory for Northwestern State, sealing the match.
Looking ahead, Grambling State will regroup and reset for their next match against Troy University scheduled for Friday.
