BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Grambling State's
Karlyn Judge,
Kaylen Jankans and
Madison Covey-Taylor for SWAC Soccer Weekly Honors for their outstanding performances during this past week of regular season competition.
Offensive
Judge was a key contributor for Grambling State as the Lady Tigers defeated Texas Southern and Prairie View A&M to open SWAC play. The sophomore forward scored the opening goal in GSU's 3-0 win over TSU and delivered a key assist in the Tigers' 1-0 win at PVAMU.
Defensive
Jankans helped the Lady Tigers get off to a 2-0 start in league play with 0 goals allowed this past week of competition. She also contributed an assist for the game winning goal against Texas Southern on Friday. Jankens logged 158 minutes of play on the back line.
Goalkeeper
Covey-Taylor had a flawless weekend in goal for Grambling State allowing no goals with six saves during the Lady Tigers victories over Texas Southern and Prairie View A&M. She posted a complete game shutout against TSU playing all 90 minutes and registering five saves.
