TTA BENA, Miss. | The Grambling State University women's volleyball team secured a dominant 3-0 (25-23, 25-12, 25-19) victory over Mississippi Valley State on Monday night at the Harrison HPER Complex. With the win, the Lady Tigers improved their season record to 8-13 overall and 4-5 in SWAC play, while the Devilettes fell to 3-12, 2-6 SWAC.Â
How It Happened:Â
• Set 1: The opening set saw a tight battle, with seven ties and six lead changes. Grambling edged out a 25-23 win, fueled by consistent attacking from Essence Allen and Lauryn Bourne.Â
• Set 2: Grambling took complete control in the second set, hitting .222 as a team while limiting Mississippi Valley to a .056 hitting percentage. The Lady Tigers cruised to a 25-12 victory.Â
• Set 3: Despite a resilient effort from Mississippi Valley, Grambling closed the match with a 25-19 win, securing the sweep.Â

• Essence Allen led Grambling with 8 kills, hitting .286, and added 12 digs.Â
• Lauryn Bourne contributed 9 kills, a service ace, and 9 digs.Â
• Kai Williams showcased efficiency, hitting .500 with 6 kills and 3 digs.Â
