Grambling State Loses to Arizona Despite Competitive Performance

TUCSON, AZ | Grambling State put up a strong fight in the first half but were ultimately outpaced by Arizona (6-1), falling 84-60 at the McKale Center in Tucson, Arizona, on Saturday night.

Kahia Warmsley led Grambling State (2-4) with 13 points and five rebounds, while Nicole Sandifer added 10 points and three rebounds. Douthshine Prien contributed nine points with two rebounds and two assists. The Tigers forced 27 turnovers, converting them into 25 points, and scored 34 points in the paint. However, Grambling's 31.1% shooting from the field, including just 11.1% from beyond the arc, hampered their ability to keep pace with Arizona.

However, Arizona came out strong in the third, outscoring Grambling 22-11, and sealed the game with a 27-point fourth quarter. The Tigers showcased resilience but were outrebounded for the first time this season, 51-36 and allowed 46 points in the paint.
