GSU Loses Road Matchup Against Louisville

LOUISVILLE, KY | Grambling State faced the University of Louisville (6-4) on December 12 at the KFC Yum! Center, ultimately falling 96-57 in an evening matchup. 

Despite a strong opening quarter in which Grambling (2-8) shot 42.9% from the field, the team struggled to maintain its offensive rhythm against Louisville's stifling defense. Grambling finished the game shooting 35.2% overall and 42.9% from beyond the arc but was hampered by 27 turnovers that led to 29 points for Louisville.

Lydia Freeman stood out for Grambling, leading the team with 13 points and nine rebounds, Arianna Mosley contributed seven points and four rebounds.

Louisville showcased its depth and efficiency throughout the game, shooting 56.5% from the field and dominating the rebounding battle with 44 total boards. Olivia Cochran led the Cardinals with a double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, while Nyla Harris added 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Louisville's bench also made a significant impact, contributing 45 points, highlighted by Izela Arenas, who scored 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting. The Cardinals capitalized on their size advantage in the paint, scoring 46 points inside and using their fast-break opportunities to add 12 points in transition.
