GRAMBLING, La. | The Grambling State University men's basketball team enters the 2024 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) tournament as the top seed and will open play versus No. 8 Alabama State at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Bartow Arena in Birmingham, Ala.
GSU, who enters the tournament with a 17-14 overall record and a 14-4 mark in conference play, claimed the SWAC Regular Season crown for the second season in row. However, unlike last year, the Tigers isn't sharing the crown and earned the No. 1 seed.
Grambling State and Alabama State (13-18, 8-10) split the season series with GSU beating the Hornets 74-68 on Feb. 10 and ASU needing double-overtime to claim an 87-84 win over the Tigers on March 9.
Wednesday's game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
