BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | For the second year in a row, Grambling State University head men's basketball coach
Donte' Jackson has been named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Coach of the Year, while
Kintavious Dozier was selected to the All-SWAC First Team.
The reigning SWAC Co-Coach of the Year has followed up a dominant campaign from last year with an even more impressive run this season. This season, Jackson claimed his second SWAC regular season championship in row, his third overall. Grambling State wrapped up the regular season with a 14-4 record in conference play. This year, Jackson claimed his 100
th victory as head coach of Grambling State and currently has 116 total wins as GSU head coach, the second most in school history behind legendary head coach Fredrick C. Hobdy.
Dozier earned All-SWAC first team honors in his first season wearing the black & gold. The junior from Lanett, Ala. has been one of the biggest catalysts in GSU's success, averaging a team-leading 13.1 points per game while shooting 45.9 percent from the field. He ranks 12
th in the conference with 408 total points. He's eclipsed the 20-point plateau in seven games this season, including a career-high 34 points against Washington State. Dozier nabbed SWAC Weekly honors twice this year, being named SWAC Player of the Week on Dec. 12 and SWAC Impact Player of the Week on Jan. 16. He's also racked up 89 rebounds, 35 steals, 26 assists and three blocks.
