NEW ORLEANS, La. | The Grambling State University women's volleyball team concluded competition at the Tulane Tournament with a tough 3-0 loss to Mississippi State on Sunday afternoon, falling in straight sets 12-25, 17-25, and 16-25 at the Avron B. Fogelman Arena. 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSU (4-3) claimed the first set with a dominant 25-12 victory, fueled by a strong offensive attack.
- In the second set, GSU (2-8) tightened their defense but ultimately fell 25-17.
- Mississippi State sealed the match by taking the third set, 25-16.
 
THROUGH THE NUMBERS
- Allen led Grambling with 10 kills on 31 total attempts, finishing the match with a .129 hitting percentage. She also contributed three digs and one block.
- Kennya Sykes had an impressive .600 hitting percentage, tallying three kills on five attempts without an error.
- Letícia Correa led the team in assists, distributing 13 throughout the match.
- Mississippi State hit .289 as a team, registering 41 kills and 55 total points compared to Grambling's 22 kills and 29 total points.
  
Essence Allen's remarkable play over the course of the tournament solidified her selection to the All-Tournament team, a bright spot for Grambling as they look to bounce back in their next match.
