ATLANTA, Ga. | Grambling State University's
Kintavious Dozier has been the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, announced by the conference on Friday morning.
Dozier, a senior guard from Lannett, Ala., was a big part of GSU's championship run last season.
He averaged a team-leading 13.0 points per game while shooting 44.6 percent from the field. He ranks eighth in the conference with 468 total points. He eclipsed the 20-point plateau in seven games last season, including a career-high 34 points against Washington State. Dozier nabbed SWAC Weekly honors twice, being named SWAC Player of the Week on Dec. 12 and SWAC Impact Player of the Week on Jan. 16. He also averaged 3.0 rebounds per game, 1.02 steals per contest and 1.0 assists.
