HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1: Grambling opened strong, taking an early 4–2 lead behind a kill from
Jaida Gray and a block by
Ra'Niya Brown. The Lady Tigers kept the pressure early, but Prairie View's balanced attack led by D'Mya Hill and Kylee Owens shifted momentum midway through the frame. Despite a service ace from
Denver Watkins and solid swings from Lucas and Brown, the Panthers closed on a late run to take the opening set, 25–15.
Set 2: The second set featured back-and-forth action, with Grambling showcasing its best offensive rhythm of the afternoon, hitting .324 as a team. Brown, Lucas, and Gray each delivered timely kills, while
Amaris Marks gave GSU a spark off the bench with consecutive points that pushed the Lady Tigers ahead 24–22. However, Prairie View fought off set point and used a service ace and two late kills to edge out the frame, 27–25.
Set 3: Prairie View maintained control early in the third set, but Grambling stayed within striking distance behind strong swings from Lucas and Brown. The Lady Tigers continued to battle, highlighted by a dig-to-kill sequence from Keli'i to Gray, but PVAMU capitalized on GSU errors and key kills from Hill down the stretch to secure the final set, 25–17.
