BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) recognized Grambling State University midfielder
Giulia Altomare with a pair of weekly honors on Tuesday, naming her Co-Offensive Player of the Week and Newcomer of the Week following a dominant showing in Grambling State's 3–2 victory over Prairie View A&M.
Altomare delivered one of her best performances of the season scoring two goals on two shots on goal in just 65 minutes of action.
Her first goal opened the scoring for the Lady Tigers in the 4th minute with a powerful strike from outside the box, finishing a setup from
Nyla Dore-Anderson to give Grambling an early lead.
She later found the back of the net again in the 70th minute this time with an assist from
Chloe Bryant.
The goal was a decisive game-winner that sealed an important conference road victory.
The two-goal performance brings the freshman's season total to three goals.
