Marcellius Johnson earned Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) weekly football honors on Monday afternoon.
Benoit, a true freshman from Loreauville, La. was named the SWAC Newcomer of the Week after throwing for 220 yards and four touchdowns on 12-of-20 passing in his first collegiate start. His efforts helped GSU defeat Bethune-Cookman 31-23.
Johnson grabbed SWAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after racking up nine tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in GSU victory over BCU.
