LORMAN, Miss. | Grambling State's four-game winning streak was snapped on Saturday afternoon, as the Tigers fell to Alcorn State 27-16 at Spinks-Casem Stadium.
GSU (7-4 overall, 4-3 SWAC) put up 241 yards of total offense, with 142 coming through the air and 99 coming on the ground.

Hayden Benoit went 16-for-33 on the day. Running back
Andre Crews led the rushing attack with 69 yards on 16 carries.
Defensive end
Bryce Cage led the GSU defense with nine total tackles (one solo) with 0.5 sacks.
Grambling State struggled get into a rhythm on offense in the first half. After
Theodore Caballero drilled a 38-yard field on the Tigers' first drive of the game, the offense was kept of the board for the rest of half.
GSU was limited to 25 rushing yards and 89 passing yards in the first half.
Alcorn State (5-6, 4-3) took a 7-3 lead with 54 second to go in the first quarter on an 8-yard run by Jacorian Sewell. The Braves made it 14-3 with 6:38 left in the second quarter on a 1-yard TD run by Reggie Davis.
The Tigers surged to take the lead in the second half. Caballero kicked a 29-yard field goal, cutting the deficit to 14-6 2:29 left in the third quarter. On the first play of ASU's ensuing drive,
Tyrell Raby scooped up a fumble, returning it for a 10-yard TD, making it a 14-13 game with 2:21 remaining in the third quarter.
Caballero's third field goal of the day, a 27-yarder, gave the Tigers a 16-14 lead with 8:03 left in the fourth quarter.
The Braves responded on their next drive, marching 75 yards in 11 plays to jump back in front 21-16 with 4:50 to go.
The Tigers couldn't respond to the score.
Alcorn State added one more touchdown on the final play of the game, returning a fumble for a score.
ASU gained 318 yards of offense. The Braves were led by quarterback Jaylon Tolbert who completed 23-of-30 passes for 167 yards. Alcorn State ran for 151 yards and three touchdowns.

Following a bye week, Grambling State travels to New Orleans, La. to face Southern in the 52
nd Bayou Classic. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Caesars Superdome and will be broadcast on NBC.
