GRAMBLING, La. | The Grambling State University women's soccer team is headed back to the postseason as the No. 2 seed in the 2025 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Women's Soccer Tournament.
The Tigers will face No. 7 Southern in the quarterfinals on Thursday, November 6 at 4 p.m. at the PVAMU Soccer Complex in Prairie View, Texas.
Grambling State enters the tournament following a strong regular season, finishing 8-6-5 overall and 5-0-3 in SWAC play.
The Tigers went unbeaten in conference competition and did not lose a match at home.
Southern eliminated Grambling State in last year's SWAC Tournament after the teams played to a scoreless draw in the semifinals.
Southern advanced on penalties and went on to win the championship.
This year's tournament will be played in a single-elimination format, beginning Thursday at 10 a.m. and continuing through Sunday at the PVAMU Soccer Complex.
All tournament games will stream live on SWAC TV.
Thursday, November 6
Match 1 – No. 1 Jackson State vs. No. 8 Alabama State- 10:00 am
Match 2 – No. 4 Alabama A&M vs. No. 5 Prairie View A&M- 1:00 pm
Match 3 – No. 2 Grambling State vs. No. 7 Southern- 4:00 pm
Match 4 – No. 3 Texas Southern vs. No. 6 Alcorn State- 7:00 pm
Friday, November 7
Match 5 – Winner Match 1 vs. Winner Match 2 - 3:00 pm
Match 6 – Winner Match 3 vs. Winner Match 4 - 6:00 pm
Sunday, November 9
Match 7 – Championship- 1:00 pm
