PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas | Grambling State continued its dominant run of form on Thursday afternoon, rolling past Alcorn State 6–0 at Lady Panther Soccer Field.
The 6–0 shutout represents the largest postseason margin of victory in Coach Wagar's tenure with the Lady Tigers
The Lady Tigers controlled possession from start to finish and struck early, building a three-goal lead before halftime and never allowing Alcorn to settle in.
Grambling State's pressure in the attacking third produced chances throughout both halves, with five different players recording at least one point in the victory.
With the win, Grambling State improved to 10–6–5 overall and remained unbeaten in SWAC play at 6–0–3.
Alcorn dropped to 5–8–4 and 3–4–2 in conference play.
Sophia Lezizidis powered the offense with two goals and one assist, while
Liana Bryant added two goals and two assists in a standout performance up top.
Alana Aiken opened the scoring in the 16th minute, and
Adalie Hernandez capped the afternoon with a finish in the 58th minute.
Kaia Bace and
Jaliyah Clark combined for a clean sheet in goal, making six total saves as Grambling State secured its ninth shutout of the season.
The Lady Tigers produced 19 shots placing 12 on frame, and held a 6–4 advantage in corner kicks while keeping Alcorn off the scoresheet across both halves.
