GRAMBLING, La. | The Grambling State University football team placed three student-athletes on the 2025 All-Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) teams. The teams were announced by the conference office on Monday and were voted upon by the head coaches and sports information directors.
Defensive ends
Bryce Cage and
Warren Robinson, alongside defensive back
Markel Linzer, earned spots of the All-SWAC First Team.
Cage was Grambling State's leading tackler, with 63 total tackles (35 solo). He ranked second in the conference in tackles for loss with 15.5 and was sixth in the SWAC in sacks with five. He also had 11 quarterback hurries.
Robinson was among the best in the SWAC at getting to opposing QBs. The Houston, Texas native ranked second in the SWAC in sacks with 8.5. He was sixth in the conference in tackles for loss, racking up 11 stops in the backfield. Robinson made 38 total tackles (21 solo) to go along with one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, one pass breakup and five QB hurries.
Linzer established himself as one of the best defensive backs in the SWAC. The New Iberia, La. native led the SWAC with four interceptions. Linzer registered 35 total tackles (26 solo) and one tackle for loss. He also had three pass breakups and one forced fumble.
