GRAMBLING, La. | Grambling State delivered a dominant performance in front of a home Education Day crowd Monday afternoon, rolling past Jarvis Christian University 93–38 inside the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.
The Lady Tigers improve to 2–9 on the season with the strong victory.
Grambling set the tone immediately, opening the game on a 29–4 first-quarter run while holding Jarvis Christian to just one made field goal.
The Lady Tigers forced turnovers early and frequently, turning defense into offense and building a commanding 53–15 halftime lead.
The momentum continued after the break as Grambling outscored the Bulldogs 21–13 in the third quarter.
Balanced scoring and relentless work on the glass allowed the Lady Tigers to maintain control throughout the second half, closing the game with a 19-point fourth quarter to seal the win.
Alieghya Bartholomew led all scorers with 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting, knocking down three three-pointers.
Zaria Johnson and
Monica Marsh each added 13 points, while
Jamirica Roberson posted a strong all-around performance off the bench with 10 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double.
Grambling finished with four players in double figures and scored 39 bench points.
As a team, Grambling State forced 30 turnovers, scored 37 points off those miscues, and dominated the glass with 67 rebounds.
The Lady Tigers also generated 40 second-chance points and 23 fast-break points.
