BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) has recognized Grambling State University women's basketball standouts
Kahia Warmsley and
Lydia Freeman among its Players of the Week, following their exceptional performances in recent matchups.
Freeman dominated in Grambling State's 71-59 victory over Bethune-Cookman, showcasing her prowess in the paint.
She delivered a double-double, scoring 21 points on an efficient 9-of-11 shooting while securing 12 rebounds, including five on the offensive glass. Freeman was also perfect from the free-throw line, converting all three of her attempts.
Warmsley led the charge in a tough 55-52 contest against Florida A&M, displaying her scoring ability with a game-high 22 points.
She shot 8-of-16 from the field, including two three-pointers, and was flawless at the free-throw line, making all four attempts.
Warmsley also contributed five rebounds and two steals in an all-around effort. Freeman also made her presence felt in the game, adding 10 points and nine rebounds.
