GRAMBLING, La. | The Grambling State University women's volleyball team earned the 2025 AVCA Team Academic Award, sponsored by INTENT.
It marks the first time the program has received the honor. The award recognizes programs that maintain a year-long team grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.
GSU stood tall among more than 1,400 collegiate and high school teams honored across the country, proving that excellence in the classroom is just as important as success on the court.
Head Coach
Paige Phillips praised her team's commitment and work ethic.
"I am so proud of Grambling State Volleyball's academic success," said Phillips. "The AVCA Team Academic Award is proof of our grit, discipline and drive to succeed on and off the court. I'm very proud of this
program for accomplishing their goals and setting the standard academically."
The academic accolade represents a major step forward for the team, reinforcing the program's mission to develop student-athletes who thrive in every aspect of their college journey.
With this award, Grambling State joins a national list of programs who are proving that championship culture begins with discipline and a commitment to excellence beyond the court.
