GRAMBLING, La. | The Southwestern Athletic Conference announced its 2025 Women's Volleyball Preseason Poll on Wednesday, with Grambling State projected to finish seventh.

The Lady Tigers collected 122 points in the voting. They landed just two points behind Southern and ahead of Alabama A&M and Texas Southern.

Florida A&M last year's SWAC champion, was the clear favorite. The Rattlers grabbed 13 first-place votes and 218 points to sit at the top of the poll. 

Jackson State was picked second, followed by Bethune-Cookman, Prairie View A&M, and Alabama State to close out the top five.

Grambling is coming off a 10–19 season under head coach Paige Phillips. 

The Lady Tigers went 6–10 in conference play and earned the No. 8 seed in the SWAC Tournament. Their season ended in the quarterfinals against top-seeded Florida A&M.

Grambling opens the 2025 season on Friday, August 29, against Southeast Missouri State in Starkville, Mississippi. First serve is set for 11 a.m. 

The SWAC Tournament is scheduled for November 21–23 at Florida A&M University.
